The ‘Alternative Education’ is an educational proposal for everyone who wants to contribute to building alternatives to the system.

All members involved in this initiative (Coop Nuevo Horizonte, CPR-P, CIEP) must assume the collective responsibilities of this project and commit to safeguard its long term goals, as well as maintain its mechanisms for collective decision making and financing.

The ‘Popular School’ is an educational proposal that involves all aspects of education, and which integrates many communities and organizations in different schools across the region.

The strategic objective is to catapult structural changes in Guatemala for a society free of exploitation, racism and discrimination. In this sense, it is fundamental to strengthen the popular political movement of this country in order to counteract the capitalist exploitation of imperialism that has plagued Guatemala.
This task, in turn, involves the reinforcement of the ideological and political formation through formal education as well as providing technical capabilities that are necessary to empower our people.
